The late Mary Travers shared this about the power of song... "There is one song that fills all of our hearts, a song that will always be relevant, a song that needs multiple generations, that needs all of us, because you are, and always will be, that answer that blows in the wind."

VOICES CAFE is thrilled to feature talented artists of today, sharing their renditions of The Power of Song for Justice, a tribute to the powerful legacy of folk icons Peter, Paul & Mary.

Pete and Maura Kennedy released their newest album, “Headwinds” to much critical acclaim. Justice is still a motivating force for The Kennedys. Pete shared “our love of the great things about this country, things that are under threat, is the reason we decided to make this newest album." WFMT’s Marilyn Rea Breyer shares “Pete’s astonishing range on any guitar he touches deftly underpins every mood of Maura’s warm, lyrical voice.”

Suzanne Sheridan is a singer-songwriter, guitarist, and professional photographer, and long-time Westport CT resident. One fan captured an evening with Suzanne so well: “There is just no one like Suzanne Sheridan to bring it all: the energy, the enthusiasm, the true artistry, and the way she… honors the icons of folk music… Suzanne provides a powerful and entertaining evening."

Mustard’s Retreat’s David Tamulevich and Libby Glover share “We came of age in the sixties, at the confluence of Pete Seeger, Peter, Paul & Mary, Bob Dylan, and the singer-songwriter revolution. We continue to be defiantly hopeful.” David and Libby continue to sing the songs they enjoy and care about. And one reviewer says Mustard’s Retreat brings “music that cures what ails you.”
