“Cottage Country Concerts” has Colin Linden coming to perform along with his brother, Jay Linden at an incredibly intimate venue near you. Colin Linden is a Canadian music icon, a National Treasure and if ever the saying rang true, Colin Linden was “born with a guitar in his hands”. It was Colin’s two older brothers, Jay and Harley, who would first coax and nurture this passion that was born into him. By the age of five, Colin was playing guitar and it wasn’t long before he found the blues or perhaps the blues found him. Nevertheless, the embrace was mutual. At the age of 11 Colin’s mom took him to see Howlin’ Wolf at the Colonial Tavern. Arriving hours before the show, 11 year old, Colin Linden was fortunate to spend a few hours talking with Howlin’ Wolf, a conversation that cemented his dreams and desires in place. At 13 he started performing at the Fiddler’s Green Coffee House with his older brothers Jay and Harley. By the time he was 20, Colin had released his first album, Colin Linden Live!!!!. Colin Linden has been caressing the neck and backbone of the blues ever since and his relationship with the genre is where his roots may lay, but Colin has long and storied kinships to most genres of music, such as Folk, Americana, Gospel and good old Rock n Roll. He has released fourteen solo albums and produced or been a part of so many many more. Colin Linden has worked alongside countless artists playing on over 500 albums and producing over 150. He has worked with a who’s who, and become friends with many including Bruce Cockburn, Lucinda Williams, Emmylou Harris, Bob Dylan, The Band, John Prine, Greg Allman, T-bone Burnett, Keb Mo, Diana Krall, Leon Redbone, Amos Garrett, Colin James, Lori Yates, and most recently with his brother, Jay Linden on his newest release “Ordinary Sunrise”. Colin has also most recently worked with Amanda Rheaume, Meredith Moon, Adrian Sutherland and Julian Taylor. On top of all of this, Colin is also a founding member of Blackie and the Rodeo Kings along with his pals Tom Wilson and Stephen Fearing. He has earned many prestigious accolades and awards such as a Grammy Award and a staggering 25 Juno nominations and 9 Juno Awards in both Artist and Producer Categories as well as countless other awards. In 2015 he was part of an ensemble of musical talent to play at the White House. Colin Linden’s musical and producing talents have also led him to film, including the soundtrack on Oh Brother Where Art Thou and Inside Llewyn Davis. Colin was also integral to the television hit show Nashville, where he wore the hats of Musician, Music Producer, Music Director, and Songwriter. This “Cottage Country Concert” is a very rare opportunity to hear Colin sing and play and share it with his brother, Jay in a very beautiful and intimate house concert setting.
