"Given the ability to absorb and incorporate an exhilarating variety of musical styles into their material, it is not surprising that Zu often sounds like a hundred bands in one although the way they piece together their wild sonic jigsaw is unique to them alone." — Pitchfork

Zu is a strange beast. Officially born in Ostia, on the sea of Rome, Italy, in 1997, the band has released more than 15 albums and played thousands of shows throughout the planet, gaining a cult status worldwide. Genre-defying and boundary-blurring, Zu has evolved a unique musical language following its own personal path. Parts of metal, noise, prog, electronic music, ambient, industrial, and contemporary music are transformed and reshaped in their unique form, resembling none of the above.

The list of the band’s collaboration is endless, featuring artists like Mike Patton (Faith No More), Joe Lally (Fugazi), King Buzzo (The Melvins), David Tibet (Current 93, with whom they released Zu93 – Mirror Emperor in 2018), FM Einheit (Einstürzende Neubauten), Damo Suzuki (Can), Mats Gustafsson, and members of The Ex, The Locust, and Ruins. Notable releases include the critically acclaimed Carboniferous (2009, Ipecac Recordings) and an experimental trilogy: Jhator (2017), Zu93 – Mirror Emperor (2018), and Terminalia Amazonia (2019) on House of Mythology. In 2025, Zu will release a new live album with Ruins as RuinsZu, continuing their legacy of groundbreaking collaborations.

The opening act will be Serbian electronic artist Kӣr (Bane Jovancevic), resident and program manager of Belgrade’s Drug§tore. Combining drone and post-industrial elements with Balkan folklore and Byzantine traditions, the intertwining of these genres creates his unique sound. This performance will be an electro-acoustic live set, showcasing Kӣr’s signature style. His releases include Imrali (Creme Organization), Mramorje (Yerevan Tapes), and the latest Balčak (DISK). His most recent track was released on Rocket Recordings..
