After worldwide acclaim for his MD duties for David Bowie's Blackstar album, he continues to be boundary-busting, whilst embracing the contemporary notions of what jazz is. From working with Gary Burton, Steps Ahead, Maria Schneider, Danilo Perez, The Gil Evans Orchestra and Elvis Costello, his first album under his own name came in 2018 with Blow who brought a non-jazz consciousness to the album, which was described by Jazzwise as, “…a uniquely hard-hitting, direct, studio-driven recording that organically joins together elements from electronica, post-rock, jazz and improve more persuasively than perhaps anything before it."
