Description

The performance 'Stories of Escaping Animals' features 11 short tragicomedies based on Don Nigro's 'Animal Stories', in the theater's artistic adaptation. Directed by Maksym Iievliev. Performed in Ukrainian with German subtitles. It portrays animals—platypuses, mice, chipmunks, cats, turkeys, and more—searching for belonging in unfamiliar societies, echoing human fears and personal struggles. Presented by LUFT, a Ukrainian theater company in Lübeck. Started as an artistic therapy studio, it grew into a troupe producing performances and concerts. LUFT reinterprets classics via Ukrainians' modern German experiences, staging Ukrainian-language shows with German subtitles for cultural dialogue. Plans include new works, German tours, and festivals.
