Amber Rubarth and local artist Josh Kimbrough will join forces on May 15 to swap their original tunes. Come one, come all! Special community offering, free entry / please donate what you can.
Amber Rubarth is a singer-songwriter coming to us from upstate NY. Former chainsaw sculptor turned self-taught multi-instrumentalist, she has toured her soulful, poetic music across the US, Europe, Japan, and South Africa, and supported the likes of Emmylou Harris, Richie Havens, and Dr. Ralph Stanley. Her ninth full length album, Cover Crop, is a meditation on our interconnectivity with nature.
Josh Kimbrough is a fingerstyle guitarist and composer from Chatham County. He was a key member of Chapel Hill's Trekky Records Collective (Lost in the Trees, Sylvan Esso) in the early aughts and has recently toured with Andrew Marlin (Watchhouse) and Joan Osborne. His debut album 'Slither, Soar & Disappear' has been praised as a collection of delicate folk songs that run free.
