Description
Julianna Barwick and Mary Lattimore, celebrated ambient and experimental composers, collaborated on 'Tragic Magic', recorded at Philharmonie de Paris using instruments from the Musée de la Musique. Co-produced by Trevor Spencer, the album was created in nine days, blending improvisation and ideas from Los Angeles post-2025 wildfires. They used harps from 1728-1873 and synthesizers like Roland JUPITER and Sequential Circuits PROPHET-5. The music meditates on tragedy, wonder, and shared experience's restorative power. 'Perpetual Adoration' draws from a visit to Basilica of Sacré-Cœur. Intimate, grounded in friendship, earthly yet cosmic.
