The world-traveling band Dirty Cello performs at the historic Redwood Playhouse. The band Dirty Cello will play anywhere that’s fun - the bottom of a cave, the Negev desert and anywhere in between. And now they’ve found an awesome spot in Garberville at the Redwood Playhouse. On Jan 16 at 7 pm, the Dirty Cello band will present their wild version of blues, rock and Americana in the 86 year old Redwood Playhouse. This amazing venue feels like you’re stepping back into the past. Built originally as a public school, it had several different incarnations over the years as a meeting place, office space, and a teen center. It's not been transformed into a beautiful theater. The Dirty Cello band is going to wheel in a great sound system and they’ll show up with their trademark energy, humor, and a whole lot of cello. From soaring vocals to Hendrix-like solos on the cello, the Dirty Cello has been described as, “Dirty Cello’s music is all over the map: funky, carnival, romantic, sexy, tangled, electric, fiercely rhythmic, and textured, and only occasionally classical." Oakland Magazine Tickets are $20 in advance, $25 at the door.
