The Kustendorf Klasic festival of classical music will be held from August 31 to September 3 at the ethno-village of Mecavnik on Mokra Gora, the organizers announced.

This year as well, the festival will feature a rich competitive and revue program.

In the competitive part of the festival, young musicians from Serbia, Russia, and Belarus will perform, students from the Faculties of Music in Belgrade, Novi Sad, Nis, Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Omsk, Tyumen, Khanty-Mansiysk, Norilsk, Tomsk, Minsk, as well as students from the Department of Music Art, Faculty of Arts, University of Pristina located in Kosovo Mitrovica.

The winners of the festival's "Golden Matryoshka" award will be selected by the international jury consisting of conductor Mikhail Golikov, artistic director and chief conductor of the State Symphony Orchestra of Leningrad Oblast, our celebrated pianist and professor at the FMU in Belgrade, Vladimir Milosevic, and Swiss-Serbian composer and guitarist, Maja Le Rou Obradovic.

Evening hours are reserved for concerts by acclaimed domestic and international artists, and for the first time, two music-scenic works will be performed.

On the first festival night, Russian pianist Zarina Shimanskaya, the winner of numerous international piano competitions and an artist of the Moscow Philharmonic, will perform, as well as mezzo-soprano Zinaida Tsarenko, a soloist of the renowned Mariinsky Theatre, reports Tanjug.

The second night, September 1, is reserved for the performance of the comic opera "Behind the Opera Scenes" by Serbian composer Vera Milankovic.

The operetta will be performed by the Art Ensemble of the Ministry of Defense "Stanislav Binicki" under the baton of conductor Radeta Pejic in collaboration with the Student City Cultural Center.
