Description
Upbeat string music with acrobatic dance A good hundred years ago, T.S. Eliot wrote the revolutionary poem The Waste Land. The world he describes in it bears many similarities to today’s world. A world burdened by ongoing challenges like war, poverty, loneliness, and the climate crisis. Hope and will, however, are never lost. The upbeat string music of Amsterdam Sinfonietta and ISH Dance Collective’s acrobatics take you on a sensory quest towards a brighter future, from darkness into the light. The performance The Waste Land about the endless cycle of decay and rebirth is based on T.S. Eliot’s poem and inspired by music by Iranian composer Farokzhad Layegh. In this unique collaboration, the musicians and dancers challenge each other to push their boundaries with different styles of music and dance.
