The film is set during World War II in a small, remote village on the triple border of Serbia, Montenegro, and Albania. For 36 hours, a persecuted Orthodox child, who lost his parents in an attack by a fascist military formation, finds refuge in the home of a completely unfamiliar Albanian Nura Doka, with whom he shares no language, religion, or blood relation.
