Description
Konak kneginje Ljubice is one of the few preserved buildings from the first reign of Prince Miloš Obrenović, built in 1830 by Hadži Nikola Živković. Intended as a representative residence for the Obrenović dynasty, it primarily served during Prince Mihailo's first rule (1839-1842).
After the 1842 expulsion of the Obrenović family, the building was used and adapted by various state institutions for 130 years. In the 1970s, the City of Belgrade repurposed it as a museum. Following restoration and reconstruction, it joined the Museum of the City of Belgrade in 1980, opening the permanent exhibition 'Interiors of 19th-Century Belgrade Houses'.
