Description

"Ernesto küülikud" is a family play based on Piret Raud's novel of the same name. With a tight plot and colorful characters, it tells the story of a magician who, by fate's will, must find a new job. Having spent years in a safe circus family, the man suddenly faces a world full of private possessions, funny bankers, and absurd fur farmers. With his sincere and direct sense of life, Ernesto does not tolerate injustice, stands up for the weak, and finally finds well-deserved peace of mind. Ernesto is a hero who dares to ask questions about what society considers normal through a critical child's gaze. His unwavering dedication to his charges—rabbits stolen from a fur farm—could be an example to all who care about nature and friends. Finally, Ernesto shows how important it is to have the courage to seek and find one's personal happiness, even if the path is different from others. Where is all that magic and wizardry hidden when the colorful and mysterious circus is no more? In 2020, the production was nominated for the Salme Reeg Theater Award as an 'inventive, playful, and environmentally conscious children's play'.
