An evening of music featuring three Canadian musicians. Kathleen Nisbet is a fiddle player, multi-instrumentalist, singer and composer from Vancouver, BC. Classically trained early on, she returned to her Métis roots, pursuing traditional folk music. She has worked with artists in various genres, including touring with Viper Central, accompanying Métis Traditional Dance, and joining artists on the road. An active member of Vancouver's bluegrass, old time and folk scene with numerous recording credits, she has composed for dance, theatre and film, and produces live music events like the East Van Opry. Benj Rowland is a community-trained musician playing bouzouki, tenor guitar, hurdy-gurdy, accordions and foot keyboard synthesizer. His compositions blend Celtic, Cajun, Oldtime and Balfolk influences. After 15 years in ensembles, he launched a solo career with his 2022 album 'Community Garden' produced by Joel Plaskett, has shared stages with renowned artists, and scores for theatre and dance. Ben Rogalsky is a singer and multi-instrumentalist in Canada’s folk and experimental communities. He performs traditional unaccompanied singing with Amorphous Folk Collective, blends roots, old-time and bluegrass with The Breakmen across three albums and tours, composed for Javanese Gamelan with Gamelan Madu Sari, collaborated with Uzume Taiko, and works in theatre and dance as composer, sound designer and more. His solo sets mix original songs, traditional material and instrumental pieces.
