The Obsessed is a doom metal and hard rock band formed in 1978, known for influential contributions to the genres. Founder Scott 'Wino' Weinrich's distinctive vocals and guitar work have inspired heavy music worldwide. They gained respect in the Baltimore/DC hardcore punk scene, bridging heavy metal and punk, earning comparisons to Black Flag, Bad Brains, and Minor Threat, and dubbed 'America’s Motorhead'. Wino joined Saint Vitus for key albums like 'Born Too Late'. The Obsessed released their debut in 1990, followed by 'Lunar Womb' (1991) and 'The Church Within' (1994).
