Description
The Leisure Society was founded by Nick Hemming. The band has received high praise for their outstanding songwriting and production, winning two Ivor Novello nominations and Rough Trade Albums of the Year. As a teenager, Nick formed the indie band She Talks To Angels with director Shane Meadows and actor Paddy Considine. Later, he joined The Telescopes on Creation Records and scored films for Meadows. Teaming up with Christian Hardy, they formed The Leisure Society. Their single ‘The Last Of The Melting Snow’ was championed by Dermot O’Leary, Radcliffe and Maconie, and Guy Garvey. They’ve collaborated and toured with Ray Davies, Brian Eno, Laura Marling, Neil Hannon, Richard Thompson, Paul Heaton & Jacqui Abbott. This event is 16+.
