The lecture on sex in Russian literature – yes, that's right!

It will be this Saturday, September 14, read by Karim. Where – you probably have already guessed 😉

Sex is the only way to continue humanity and at the same time one of the most taboo subjects in culture. However, it is characteristic of humans to contemplate everything around them, including sex, which they have done since ancient times.

In the lecture, you will learn how the theme of sex is reflected in folk tales and songs, in the poetry of the 18th and 19th centuries, and why in one of the most puritanical European literatures – Russian – surprisingly frank love scenes sometimes appeared.

We will also discuss how the freedom-loving 20th century changed the approach to sexuality, breaking down old taboos.
