Vincent Cavanagh, one of the founding members and vocalist of Anathema, opens a new chapter in his musical journey with his solo project, The Radicant. The Radicant is not just a music project; it is a multi-layered experience conceived as a cinematic audiovisual performance that brings together sound, visual arts, and technology. The name of the project, "Radicant," comes from a concept that describes living things that progress by forming new roots. Therefore, this approach is directly reflected in Cavanagh's artistic production. The Radicant's debut EP, We Ascend, draws inspiration from Vincent Cavanagh's atmospheric world, synonymous with Anathema, while musically venturing into a more experimental and electronic realm. The EP features a broad sound palette ranging from drum'n'bass rhythms to cinematic electronic textures. This structure, which intertwines melodic psychedelic, ambient, and electronic elements, offers a familiar emotional depth to Anathema listeners while clearly showcasing Cavanagh's exploration of new avenues of expression. The recording process, thanks to collaboration with French producer Ténèbre, resulted in a powerful, clear, and visually evocative production. With The Radicant, Vincent Cavanagh elevates music beyond mere auditory expression, transforming it into a form that directly engages with the visual arts. His previous exhibitions, installations, and projects with artists from diverse disciplines form the basis of this approach. In live performances, music, visual narrative, and stage design are treated as a whole, resulting in a cinematic experience that draws the audience in, rather than a classical concert. These special performances, part of their Turkey tour, will feature songs from The Radicant repertoire as well as selected pieces from Anathema. Vincent Cavanagh will be joined by Lee Douglas, one of Anathema's iconic vocalists, in these segments. Lee Douglas's presence on stage ensures that the Anathema legacy is a living and evolving part of this project, while also holding special significance for listeners who have long been connected to the emotional world of this music. The Radicant's first Turkey tour will include concerts on April 11, 2026 at Ankara Tosca Play, April 12 at IF Performance Hall Beşiktaş, and April 13 at İzmir SoldOut Performance Hall. This tour offers the opportunity to experience Vincent Cavanagh's new era production live and holistically, while also allowing us to feel Anathema's timeless spirit in a different form.
