Don Juan – as a mythical figure born from popular imagination and poetry - is always young and handsome, but wicked and dangerous to the female sex. He has not changed for centuries, living on in literary works, operas, and on canvas. In Ilić's play, the two of them clash over the young, sensually gifted, and eroticizing beauty Gisela, the niece of Count Valdstein.

The play is genre-marked as a "melancholy comedy," as it deals with Eros as a fleeting motivator of human achievements, but also of many temptations and follies into which Eros draws people regardless of their age.
