🍿 Anime Night #21 (February 24)
Watching a war tragedy
"Grave of the Fireflies" (1988) directed by Isao Takahata: co-founder of Studio Ghibli, director, and later partner of Hayao Miyazaki. Unfortunately, it is based on real events...
"The film takes place in Kobe at the end of the Second World War; it describes the fate of two Japanese children — teenager Seita and his sister Setsuko — in the final months of the war".
It will be painful, but it is worth it. And this is not just our opinion:
💔 Boris Ivanov from the Hi-Fi.ru website editorial placed "Grave of the Fireflies" in 3rd position among the 100 best anime films in cinema history. 💔 15th place among the 100 best animated films according to Time Out magazine. 💔 Included in the list of the top 50 anime of all time according to the "AnimeGuide" magazine.
