This Latine Heritage Month, we honor the perseverance, creativity, and activism that define our communities. Keynote Speaker, Olga Talamante:
A true trailblazer, Olga’s story of activism, perseverance, and leadership is one of unwavering courage. From her time imprisoned in Argentina to her legacy in the Mission District, Olga has always been a force for justice, showing us how communities come together to support one another.
Diana Gameros:
Diana Gameros is a singer-songwriter whose music explores themes of migration, identity, and home. Diana will share her journey as an undocumented immigrant through her powerful music and words.
Shadow Band with Chris Trinidad & Tarik "Excentrik" Kazaleh:
Unites the talents of Tarik "Excentrik" Kazaleh, a Palestinian American artist known for trailblazing Arab hip hop, and Chris Trinidad, a Filipino-Canadian musician and scholar. Together, they blend global rhythms and cultural influences into a powerful musical dialogue that celebrates unity and the healing power of music.
LoCura:
Bringing the spirit of celebration, LoCura will light up the stage with their electrifying fusion of Latin, rock, and global rhythms. Get ready to dance and connect through their infectious energy!
LoCura, a dynamic band from Oakland, blends Latin, rock, and global rhythms into an energetic and unifying sound. Led by vocalist Kata Miletich, LoCura’s performances are a celebration of cultural diversity and community spirit. Their music, described as "Califas Mestizo Music," is guaranteed to make you dance and connect.
