Maria Basel's concerts blend longing and euphoria, melancholy and dynamics, gliding between tender downtempo parts and driving beats. Her new EP 'The Longing' (Nov 2025, Listenrecords) nears club sound while retaining songwriting depth. Live with her band, she fuses electronic beats, warm synths, and acoustic instruments into an intimate yet powerful sound. Born in Ukraine to a pianist and cellist, she is classically trained and rooted in the Bergisches Land and Ruhrgebiet music scenes, including jazz, electro, and composing for Pina Bausch Ensemble.
