The exhibition marks the 150th anniversary of the birth of Ernest Bošnjak, a pioneer of Yugoslav cinematography. Ernest Bošnjak was born in Sombor on January 1, 1876, and was the first Yugoslav cinematographer, director, and producer. He studied the printing trade in his native Sombor, and worked as a printer in Budapest, Pest, Szeged, and Subotica. He returned to his hometown in 1906 and established his own printing shop and engraving workshop. In 1906, Bošnjak brought a cinema projector to Sombor and opened a cinema. In 1909, he filmed the first feature film, depicting girls playing in the park near the County building in Sombor. For his contributions to Yugoslav cinema, he received a state pension. He passed away in Sombor in 1963.
