Kineska nacionalna opera performs Giacomo Puccini's Turandot in Belgrade on June 22, 2026, at Sava Centar, starting at 20:00. Over 200 artists take the stage with exceptional scenery and costumes transported by six trucks. This production marks the 100th anniversary of the opera's premiere. Organized by Verdi Opera and International Opera Foundation. Set in China, it tells a timeless story of a princess, riddles, courage, wisdom, and love. Featured artists include conductor Yang Yang, sopranos Liu Jianhua and Yao Hong, tenor Li Shuang, concertmaster Du Xuan, and director Wang Huichuan. Chinese National Opera, founded in 1952 under the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the People's Republic of China, features opera and choir ensembles, symphony orchestra, and artists blending traditional and contemporary arts. They have undertaken numerous international tours and collaborations.
