Memorial Tour: Rachael Kilgour & Ian Fisher in Peterborough
Rachael Kilgour lost her father, Ian Fisher lost his mother, and they are using their songs to heal. Bravely confronting the topics of identity, inheritance, grief, guilt, and familial love, their intimate live performance is more than a concert. It is a beautifully raw, human experience.
Rachael Kilgour first attained notoriety outside her native Duluth, MN as the grand prize winner of the 2015 international NewSong Music Performance & Songwriting Competition and winner of the 2017 Kerrville New Folk Contest. She has been featured at NYC’s Lincoln Center, at The Kennedy Center in Washington D.C. and at the Sundance Film Festival. Her oft-noted “unapologetic lyrics” (Rolling Stone) and “master crafted indie folk” sensibilities (Billboard) have captivated listening rooms and folk festivals around North America for over a decade. https://rachaelkilgour.com/epk
Ian Fisher left his home state of Missouri when he was twenty one to roam the streets of Europe for fifteen years. His music mixes his rural Midwestern American upbringing with a dark delicacy shaped by times of heavy living abroad. Simple, yet emotionally complex, he has the acoustic grit of an early Jeff Tweedy with a sentimental pen ready to strike a’la Townes Van Zandt. Fisher has written nearly two thousand songs while touring extensively through Europe, Africa, and North America. His many albums have earned him praise in such outlets as Rolling Stone, who calls his music “Half Americana & Half Abbey Road-Worthy Pop”. https://hyperfollow.com/ianfisher
