The Slaninijada festival this year officially starts on Thursday, February 19, at 12:00 on the main stage in the center of Kacharevo, opened by Pančevo mayor Alexander Stevanović, the event's patron. On the same day, until 8:00 AM, collect homemade bacon samples (300-500 grams) at the tourist organization 'Slaninijada' office. An expert commission including professors Milan Baltić and Milan Božović from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in Belgrade, and Vladan Djurković from the Veterinary Institute in Pančevo, will judge categories such as best domestic, artisanal, industrial, longest/largest, imported bacon, and best Mangulica bacon. The 39th Slaninijada closes on February 22 at 18:00.
