3x JUNO nominees and SiriusXM winners Sultans of String create energetic music blending Celtic reels, flamenco, Django-jazz, Arabic, Cuban, and South Asian rhythms. Fiery violin dances with rumba-flamenco guitar, bass, and percussion. Since their 2007 debut Luna, they have released chart-topping albums like Symphony (2013), Subcontinental Drift (2015), and holiday album Christmas Caravan (2017). Awards include three JUNO nominations, first place in International Songwriting Competition, six Canadian Folk Music Awards, and more. Recent releases Refuge (2020) and Sanctuary (2022) won Independent Music Awards and CFMA. Bandleader Chris McKhool, with Egyptian roots, leads with guitarist Kevin Laliberté; this show features Saskia Tomkins.
