Two Hall of Famers combine efforts to help inner city kids achieve their goals! CT blues Hall of Famer Jeff Pitchell brings his award-winning band to Infinity Hall in Hartford CT Nov 27th Thanksgiving eve with special guest James Montgomery. Pitchell’s last 2 CDs on Deguello records went to number one on the Electric Blues Charts driving worldwide recognition. They will be joined by lifelong friend Connecticut Boxing Hall of Famer recipient Coach Johnny Callas who represented The USA in the Olympics and was considered pound for pound one of the best boxers in the USA as well as a National Collegiate Boxing champion! He is the founder, Executive Director, and Coach that manages Charter Oak Boxing Academy in Hartford CT! A professional Boxer/Referee who is often seen on HBO, ESPN, etc... John’s coaching earned his student Ed 73 championships in the amateur division. They will raffle a new fender Stratocaster at the show which the proceeds will benefit COBA. COBA is a comprehensive inner city mentoring program for kids of all ages who train intensely with professional boxers and Hartford teachers. The kids become well rounded individuals who are offered tutoring, drug and alcohol counseling, athletic training and first-class Boxing instruction. Coach Callas and Pitchell grew up together, both members of St George Church and graduates of Central Connecticut State University. Pitchell, a former Hartford Teacher, and Callas both share the passion of inspiring young people to follow their dreams. Together they make quite a team!
