Aus tour 2024 info “Life is not a series of gig lamps symmetrically arranged; life is a luminous halo, a semi transparent envelope surrounding us from the beginning of consciousness to the end.” ― Virginia Woolf
Ben Salter is back for another turn around the south east corner of the country. He's just returned from a four month tour of duty in Europe & Japan where he played forty-six shows, many to very few people, a couple in front of many thousands of people (at Binic Folks Blues Festival in Brittany, France) and all points in between..
He'll be joined on the tour by Tasmanian songwriter Chloe Alison Escott, one half of post-punk titans Native Cats. Chloe's debut solo album Stars Under Contract was released a few years ago to critical acclaim. She performs with just piano and voice.
There will also be a series of special guests along the way.
He’s calling it the “Gig Lamps” tour, after a song from his most recent album, “Sublimation”, based on the above quote by Virginia Woolf.
This will be Salter's last tour for a while, probably, as he continues his semi-permanent residency at MONA Museum from Christmas.
