Speaking about the much anticipated Australian tour, Harley shares:
“Since travelling around Australia behind the wheel of my 1977 Holden Kingswood Station Wagon back in 2000, the country has held a very special place in my heart. It was whilst living in my car that I wrote the songs for my first record. I was moving from town to town, learning my trade, playing on the streets and in bars. I taught myself to play slide guitar across my lap. I surfed badly and laughed a lot. For a year or so I was weightless. It’s been some 20 years since I’ve been back. I can’t wait!”
Known worldwide for his spellbinding slide guitar work and soulful blend of blues, Americana and folk, Harley will bring his captivating live performance to audiences across Australia with a series of intimate headline shows and festival appearances.
The tour begins in Yackandandah on Thursday, 15 January, before Harley takes to the stage at the Thredbo Blues Festival across three days (16–18 January). From there, he travels through Melbourne, Bendigo, Mornington Peninsula, Belgrave, and Fremantle, concluding at the Perth Blues Club on Tuesday, 27 January.
Renowned for his emotional songwriting and masterful musicianship, Harley has earned praise from The Guardian for his “spellbinding” performances and from Guitarist Magazine as “one of the finest in contemporary roots music.” His latest album Morning Sun, produced by Nigel Stonier, features collaborators including Michael Blair (Tom Waits, Elvis Costello) and CJ Hillman (pedal steel), further cementing his reputation as a singular voice in modern roots and blues.
With recent appearances at Glastonbury, BottleRock, and the Royal Albert Hall, Harley’s 2026 Australia tour promises an unforgettable series of performances — blending technical brilliance, heartfelt storytelling, and the kind of authenticity that has made him one of the UK’s most respected touring artists.
