 Course Description: This 40-hour entry-level certification teaches the technical, facilitation, and safety management skills required to lead low and high ropes programs under the supervision of a Level Two Challenge Course Practitioner. Course candidates explore adventure-based facilitation, standards, and effective operating procedures as they develop the safe attitude, skills, and knowledge that enable them to work on a ropes course. The following operating systems are included: Spotted (Low elements), Dynamic Belay including Participatory Belay, Climbing Wall, and Instructor Access. Giant Swing & Rappelling are also included. Please note that Lanyard Course & operations are not included in this course.

Course Objectives: By the end of this course, instructor candidates will:  Have the skills to assist in high ropes operation including belaying, knot tying, set-up/take down, instructor access, and equipment use and care Be familiar with adventure learning theories and practices especially their application to program leadership Learn and practice safe operations and leadership of high and low elements Improve their ability to provide meaningful involvement opportunities for all participants Successful completion of the course, practical skills assessment, and written test will lead to certification as a Challenge Course Practitioner Level One - Full.  Adventureworks! Associates, Inc. is an Accredited Vendor of the Association for Challenge Course Technology (ACCT), and our training and certification programs have been accredited by the ACCT.

Additional Info: You must be 18 years of age by the last day of the course.  Please ensure that you have read and understood the Registration Policies.  All taxes and registration fees are included in the price. 

Meals and Accommodation: Meals are included. First meal served is lunch on the first day of the course. Last meal served is lunch on the last day of the course. Four nights of accommodation are included beginning on the first day of the course. Check-out is the last day of course. For people who need to arrive the night before the course begins, an additional night’s accommodation is available at an extra charge. Please note that breakfast is not served the next morning.
