"Desired Land" is not a chronological lecture but an emotional journey through the history of independent Ukraine - from 1991 to the present day. Serhii Zhadan's poetry sounds like living matter: it breathes, moves, and pulses through music and the actors' bodies. Each scene becomes a state of memory: hope, disappointment, love, loss, irony, and resilience. This is theater that does not explain - it makes you feel, deeply, intimately, and powerfully. Based on poems by Serhii Zhadan In Ukrainian with German subtitles LUFT - Luebecker Ukrainisches Freies Theater is a community of Ukrainian artists who built a theater in Lübeck from scratch. It began as a training studio focused on art therapy. Over time, LUFT grew into a full theater company with experience staging performances and concerts. In its work, the ensemble rethinks classic narratives through the lens of the contemporary experience of Ukrainians in Germany. Performances are presented in Ukrainian and accompanied by German subtitles to overcome the language barrier. LUFT sees itself as a meeting place of cultures, where Ukrainian and German traditions enrich one another. The company's plans include new productions, tours across German cities, and further development of festival activities.
