Description
Nana is a lavish drama based on Émile Zola's novel, set in France during the Second Empire. A beautiful young woman rises from the lowest social classes to stardom at the Variétés theater in Paris, playing Venus and becoming an audience favorite. Named Nana, she becomes an obsession for many men, toying with them, suffering, and ultimately leaving the world prematurely. Theater and outer worlds intertwine, turning people into commodities. Yearning for decency and to mother her illegitimate son, Nana fails to resist and yields to dark 'success'. Dramatization: Spasoje Ž. Milovanović. Director: Ivana Vujić.
