Crowbar was created in 1990 from the ashes of The Slugs. Original members Kirk Windstein and Jimmy Bower had a vision to create doom metal mixed with upbeat hardcore, influenced by Melvins, Carnivore, Trouble, St. Vitus, Black Sabbath, and East Coast hardcore. Often called sludge metal, they originated the NOLA sound. Kirk Windstein is the only original member, with 12 albums. Current lineup: Kirk Windstein (vocals/guitar), Matt Brunson (guitar), Pat Bruders (bass), Tommy Buckley (drums). After 36 years, Crowbar remains a powerhouse.
