The exhibition marks the 150th anniversary of the birth of Ernest Bošnjak, a pioneer of Yugoslav cinematography. Ernest Bošnjak was born in Sombor on January 1, 1876, and was the first Yugoslav cinematographer, director, and producer. He learned the printing trade in his native Sombor and worked as a printer in Budapest, Pest, Szeged, and Sombathely. He returned to his hometown in 1906 and founded his own printing house and engraving workshop there. In 1906, Bošnjak brought a film projector to Sombor and opened a cinema. In 1909, he filmed the first feature film, which depicts a game of girls in the Sombor park near the County Building. For his contributions to the development of Yugoslav cinema, he received a state pension. He passed away in Sombor in 1963.
