Billie Bird and Odd Beholder reunite for a week of musical exploration, between writing, performance and discussion. From the 26.5 to the 26.5., they open their temporary studio the Theatre Oriental for the public.
The sea, with its anarchic immensity and unfathomable depths, becomes the starting point for their artistic journey during the residency, exploring an idea they had after visiting Hamburg's maritime museum on tour one day, when they discovered their shared interests in the oceans. Having criss-crossed Germany together, they have experienced the nomadic conditions of touring life - a perpetual motion that feeds their music and reflections.
They approach their collaboration in Vevey like a sailor journaling his journey or a scientist analyzing its mysteries. A metaphor for sensations and vertigo, it links continents and histories, harboring a teeming life as much as it suffers from human exploitation.
Through a hybrid format combining songwriting, improvisation and exchange, Billie Bird and Odd Beholder share their inspirations and compositions. It's a moving, organic experience, where music weaves itself around tides and stories.
