R.A.T. is a powertrio channeling the pure essence of 1970s rock 'n' roll. Guitarist Ralf Böggering delivers riff-heavy sounds and cutting solos, bassist Axel Grunnekemeijer provides the driving foundation, and drummer Thijs Rensink handles vocals in a raspy falsetto reminiscent of Ronnie James Dio and Brian Johnson. Their album Lift Off (2022) features singles Count Me In, Buzz, and Polished Floors, released independently via crowdfunding. They supported Miss Montreal on 12 shows and played festivals like Manana Manana and Over de Top. New album Top of the Mountain is out in 2025, with upcoming shows at Oerol, Oerrock (sold out), Ego POP, and rock cafés.
