Kylver will perform their latest album The Gobi in full at an upcoming live show, presenting the record as a complete, immersive experience.
Newcastle's, Kylver are an instrumental progressive/doom/post-metal band known for their expansive compositions and cinematic approach. The Gobi, their third studio album, is a concept record inspired by the vast, hostile landscapes and mythology of the Gobi Desert. Across four long-form tracks, the album blends crushing low-end riffs with hypnotic organ lines, dynamic rhythmic shifts, and wide atmospheric passages.
Performed live in its entirety, The Gobi unfolds as a continuous narrative, drawing listeners through frozen sands, ancient nomadic lore, and mythic imagery, including references to the Donghu tribe and the legendary Allghoi-Khorkhoi. The band’s use of vintage organ and layered instrumentation adds a ritualistic, immersive quality to the performance, expanding on Kylver’s already formidable live sound.
This full-album performance offers audiences a rare chance to experience The Gobi as it was intended — loud, enveloping, and unbroken.
