On her 13th album Hummingbird Highway, out September 12 on Righteous Babe Records, Dar Williams celebrates colors glimpsed as a touring musician. Drawing on her experience as a playwright, she populates songs with nuanced characters. The title track features a child speaking to her peripatetic parent amid joys and instabilities.
