Guitarist, singer and songwriter Mark Karan is best known for his long-term work with former members of the Grateful Dead, in Bob Weir’s band RatDog (1998–2013), the Other Ones (1998–2000), Mickey Hart's band Planet Drum (1999), and Phil Lesh and Friends (2012). Before crossing over into the land of the Dead, Mark played and toured with Dave Mason, Delaney Bramlett, the Rembrandts, Sophie B. Hawkins, and Paul Carrack and more recently can be seen on tour with the Third Mind (feat. the infamous Dave Alvin), Live/Dead and Brothers & the Gilmour project.

“Mark Karan’s Budz” features Mark’s soulful blues-based vocal stylings and inspired guitar work melded with deeply creative playing from a whole array of amazing musicians, coming together in a passionate delivery of psychedelicized sounds of Americana where rock meets R&B and country and mixes with the soul of New Orleans… and whatever else the muse might bring.

This time around the “Budz” will include Scott Guberman (Phil Lesh & Friends) on keyboards, Anna Elva on drums, and Kevin T. White (Chuck Prophet) on bass guitar.
