Two titans of radical electronica, Merzbow and Bad Sector, are coming together for a joint concert. Merzbow is a project by Japanese musician Masami Akita, one of the key figures in the global noise underground. Merzbow's music is extreme noise: dense layers of distortions, overloaded frequencies, digital and analog noise, devoid of traditional melody and rhythm. The project has been around since the late 1970s, with hundreds of releases, numerous collaborations with Boris, Genesis P-Orridge, Fennesz, and other experimental artists. Bad Sector is an Italian project by Massimo Magrini, a notable figure in the dark ambient and industrial scene of the 1990s, known for cold, technogenic sound and use of real scientific and space data (telemetry, radio signals, equipment noises) as sound material. Music consists of minimalist, rhythmless soundscapes reminiscent of an abandoned laboratory or spaceport. Key releases: Ampos (1995), The Harrow (2001), Kosmodrom (2005), cult favorites in experimental electronic community.
