A Play, A Pie and A Pint: Joy. Written by Morna Young. Directed by Alex Fthenakis. An eccentric comedy-drama about one woman’s pursuit of a sense of humour. 'My name is Joy and I’m a f*cking oxymoron.' Joy, a self-identified spinster librarian, is sad most of the time. Why would her parents place the burden of such a name upon her? When a particularly disastrous date leads to her potential beau declaring she needs to find a sense of humour, Joy wonders… what if he’s right? Could finding the funnies actually be the solution to living up to her name? So begins Joy’s quest for a sense of humour, following a seemingly simple Five Step Programme off the internet. How hard can it be? A quirky journey of self-discovery, Joy is about laughing, loving and learning to be who you truly are. All tickets include food and drink.
