Description

The documentary features Naum Kleyman, prominent Soviet and Russian film scholar, founder and first director of the Museum of Cinema, and leading expert on Sergei Eisenstein's oeuvre. Author of books on film theory and history including 'Eisenstein on Paper' and 'Formula of the Finale'. Walking Moscow, St. Petersburg, and Vologda, Kleyman recalls childhood stories, meets director Alexander Sokurov, and watches films. Footage interweaves with clips from Eisenstein, Alain Resnais, Jean-Luc Godard, and other masters, creating a broad dialogue on art, culture, and modernity. Director Andrey Natochinsky: 'Some see it as a film of great love for Naum, others about cinema and culture, some about me. We can step beyond this triangle and continue walking.'
