Description
The exhibition 'Where Ink Becomes Light' commemorates 150 years since the birth of Ernest Bošnjak, pioneer of Yugoslav cinematography. Born in Sombor in 1876, he was the first Yugoslav cinematographer, director, and producer. After learning printing in Sombor and other cities, he opened a cinema in Sombor in 1906 and filmed the first feature film—a girls' game in Sombor park—in 1909. He received a state pension for his contributions to Yugoslav cinema and passed away in Sombor in 1963.
