Hiking Marathon on Fruška Gora
The Hiking Marathon on Fruška Gora is a sports competitive-recreational event of international character. It is one of the oldest marathons of this type in Europe, which has been held for over four decades continuously.
About the Marathon
There are 15 trails of different lengths and altitude differences at the marathon. All of them are traced in the hilly, forested area of Fruška Gora (97% forest, 3% urban area), located just 10 kilometers from Novi Sad.
- Five trails are certified by the International Trail Running Association (ITRA) and UTMB and have a competitive character.
- The remaining ten trails are recreational and aim to promote a healthy lifestyle, nature preservation, as well as cultural and historical heritage.
- There is a special Trail of Joy and Pleasure for preschool children.
This sports-recreational event gathers over tens of thousands of competitors and recreational participants every year.
