Description

Experience a spectacular night with two ARIA and multi-Golden Guitar winning artists, Sara Storer and Fanny Lumsden. Enjoy their unique Australian country sounds and captivating stories in this special double feature event. Each artist will perform a full set, promising an unforgettable evening.

With an ARIA for Best Country Album and 22 Golden Guitar Awards, Sara Storer is celebrated as one of Australia’s greatest singer-songwriters.

Sara writes from the heart, sings from the soul, surveys the people and land around her and lets stories inspire her creativity and guide her craft. Since the release of her critically acclaimed debut album ’Chasing Buffalo’ in 2001, Sara has gained a loyal following across Australia and has earnt high praise for her unique and authentic songwriting from the likes of Paul Kelly, Josh Cunningham (The Waifs), Kev Carmody and John Williamson who have also recorded duets with her.

Paul Kelly best described Sara’s songwriting talents when he said: "She's found her own way to sing the stories that are all around her and then inside her bubbling out. She doesn't copy over-emotive, fake sincere twangy country singers from overseas. She's found her own restraint and steel and lets her songs do their sweet, sly work."

Fanny's journey has been a unique one, starting out on a sheep farm in western NSW all the way to Glastonbury UK via hundreds of Country Halls throughout regional Australia. The songs tell the stories collected along the way. Story Club is a chance to really get into exactly that - the stories and the songs. It will be like you are sitting around the kitchen table, chatting about the themes and ideas that inspired songs from Fanny’s past 4 albums including ARIA winning albums ‘Hey Dawn’ and ‘Fallow’. If you have been to a Fanny show before you will know there’s always a story attached. With only a very limited number of tickets available, it will be like no other tour the 2x ARIA, 9x Golden Guitar, 3x AIR award winner has done. Story Club is like book club, except without the pressure of reading the book, or even having an opinion.

2x ARIA, 9x Golden Guitar and 3x AIR award winning artist Fanny Lumsden “has established herself as one of the genre's most esteemed performers” (The Australian) with her new album ‘Hey Dawn’ having taken out the 2023 ARIA for Best Country Album, the 2024 CMAA Golden Guitar for Alt-Country Album of the Year and the 2024 AIR Award for Best Independent Country Album. ‘Hey Dawn’ debuted at #1 on the Australian Album ARIA charts, being the 4th highest selling country album of 2023 and being Fanny’s second album in a row to crack the ARIA global top ten. Fanny is continuing to break the rules and confirm herself as “undoubtedly the brightest new (country) star of the current era” (Capital News). Following up her “breakthrough” album 'Fallow', which took out the ARIA, 5x CMAA Golden Guitars and AIR Country Albums, Fanny is mostly known for her regional Country Halls Tour and has recently taken her joyous, energetic and brilliant live show to debut in the UK to a packed Avalon Stage at Glastonbury, followed up by two hugely successful UK tours, including a sold-out Country Halls Tour run in Scotland. She wrapped up her Hey Dawn Tour with sold out shows throughout New Zealand, Ireland, UK and theatres across Australia, and her tour “confirms Fanny as a distinctive storyteller, and an indelible personality who can win over fans in or outside of country music” (Doug Wallan, The Australian).
