Every 1st and 3rd Thursday, David Huckfelt brings his Mystery Lights Residency to Animales. These collaborative nights invite surprise guests and improvisation across the Americana spectrum, making them a cornerstone of our programming.

David Huckfelt’s Mystery Lights is a new project & wrinkle in the time-honored tradition of folksong: a collaborative project and assemblage of musicians around country, blues, roots & branches of American music on a bi-monthly basis at Animales BBQ on the 1st & 3rd Thursdays of the month. Fronted by folk singer & national-touring singer-songwriter David Huckfelt (formerly of The Pines), the Mystery Lights Sessions will feature a rotating cast of local & regional musical luminaries painting with improvisational fire across all genres of roots, Americana, Native Americana, and songcraft from both ends of the Mississippi River and everywhere in between.
