Description
The exhibition marks the 150th anniversary of the birth of Ernest Bošnjak, pioneer of Yugoslav cinematography. Born in Sombor on January 1, 1876, he was the first Yugoslav cinematographer, director, and producer. He learned printing in Sombor and worked in Buda, Pest, Szeged, Sombathely. Returned to Sombor in 1906, founded printing house and engraving shop. Brought cinema projector, opened cinema. In 1909, filmed first feature film depicting girls playing in Sombor park near County Building. Received state pension for contributions to Yugoslav cinema. Passed away in Sombor in 1963.
