Les Hay Babies are above all friends: fun comes before work, and work happens in a fun atmosphere. Acadian natives of New Brunswick, Julie Aubé, Katrine Noël, and Vivianne Roy have been advancing their plural and sparkling folk-rock for over a decade, renewing their musical proposal with each release. Discovered via the indie-folk/country EP Folio in 2012, they followed two years later with their first album Mon homesickheart in 2014, featuring contemporary folk-rock sounds. The 60s/70s rock and 80s ballads of La 4ième dimension (extended version) came in 2016, followed by the 70s pop/disco of Boîte aux lettres in 2020. Their fourth album, Tintamarre—inspired by Louisiana jukebox roots rock—was released in October 2024. Constant changes of direction define the group as much as their indefatigable enthusiasm and interest in updating past sounds.
