Brooklyn NY's ska/reggae kings The Slackers perform for the first time at The Waverley Hotel in Cumberland BC. Their mixed repertoire spans ska, reggae, soul, R&B, folk, and bossa nova, capturing fans of all ages with themes from personal to political. Formed in 1991, they have released 16 albums, 5 EPs, and countless singles, performing thousands of energetic concerts. 2025 releases on Pirates Press Records include the EP “Money is King,” single “My Last Star” (tribute to Hepcat’s Greg Lee), and compilation “Lost and Found Vol.2” with hit “Diskambobulated.” Opening: Phonosonics, one of Canada's most beloved ska/rocksteady groups from Victoria, who have backed artists like Leroy Sibbles and Sister Nancy.
